Astera‘s PlutoFresnel is an exceptional solution for film, studio, and event lighting. PlutoFresnel boasts an impressive output comparable to a traditional 300W Tungsten Fresnel. With a beam angle of 15° to 60° without colour fringing, wireless and wired DMX control, these lights offer impressive performance while consuming only 80W. Easy to mount and adjust with removable handles and YokeBases, they enhance creativity and productivity on any set.

Built-in Battery

• 3 hours on MAX Runtime - Unlike traditional Fresnels, this light has a built-in battery that lasts 3 hours displaying white colours on MAX Brightness. When a longer operation is needed, you can set the Seamless Runtime setting up to 20 hours. For longer installations, PlutoFresnel can be connected to 24V DC power.
• External Battery Option with RuntimeExtender - ​For a longer operational time, a RuntimeExtender with V-Mount or Gold Mount battery can be connected. The light’s Yoke is designed to attach this device easily. External batteries can charge the light’s internal battery. You can use either 14.4V or 26V batteries.

Zoomable Fresnel

This next generation Fresnel lens works in conjunction with a light pipe that is built into the fixture. It creates an even beam with steep fall-off and no chromatic aberration or colour fringing. The manual zoom ranges from 15° – 60° and allows it to be operated as spotlight, wash light and anything in between.

Barndoor

Included with each light is an eight-leaf Barndoor. Its specific design leads to ultra-clean cuts; the edges stay razor sharp when shaping your beam.

Open Face

For additional versatility, the Fresnel lens can be slid out after opening its lock. This gives you a wider beam with even crisper shadows.

Projection Lens

A custom-built projection lens with 16°-36° zoom, manual focus and 4 shutters. Turn your LeoFresnel into a profile that also allows you to insert E size Gobos (Coming late 2023).

Easy Mounting

• Foldable Legs - Simply fold out the 2 legs and place the light on the floor. This allows fast operation and enables creative new lighting techniques.
• Airline Tracks - We have included our popular Airline Tracks on each of the 4 sides. This is where you can attach the YokeBase as well as other Astera accessories such as TrackHandle, TrackPin etc.
• Yoke Quick-Release - Detach your light within seconds from its Yoke to allow handheld operation.
• Detachable YokeBase - The YokeBase attaches to the light’s side via airline tracks. Move position if you want to change the light’s balance or remove it altogether.
• Removable Handle - Our TrackHandle can be inserted into the light’s airline track to carry it around or adjust its position during operation. It can be removed whenever it isn’t needed.
• TVMP Adapter - With each light we ship a standard TVMP Adapter that is intended to be connected to the light’s Yoke so it can be attached to stands and grips.
• RuntimeExtender Mount - The light’s Yoke contains a mounting point for Astera’s RuntimeExtender. This allows you to attach external batteries.

How to Control

• App Control - AsteraApp offers intuitive and fast control of complex lighting setups and is also used for preparation and monitoring of our lights.
• Wireless DMX - All Astera lights contain a wireless DMX module by LumenRadio, enabling them to be controlled by CRMX and W-DMX transmitters alongside other wireless fixtures. The AsteraBox has built-in CRMX and can be used to transmit DMX data to your lights.
• Wired DMX - Data can be added via DataLink, a data injector for the PlutoFresnel with power pass-through. Connect up to 4 Power Supplies, add DMX, Artnet or sACN and connect up to 4 PlutoFresnels with Titan Power/Data Combination Cables.
• On your light - The control panel offers intuitive control over your light. Dedicated buttons offer swift control over brightness and HSI colours.

How to Wire

• Power/Data Combination Cable - Connects PixelBrick, HydraPanel and PlutoFresnel to the PowerBox. Groundbreaking technology enables power and data to both run through a single cable for maximum convenience. Alternatively, Titan Power/Data Combination cables are compatible but do not allow an IP65 connection.
• DataLink - An alternative way to add data if no PowerBox is available. DataLink does not have a built-in power supply so it requires an external power supply.
• Hyperion Power Supply - AC to DC power converter to charge 1 Hyperion Tube or to wire it for a longer installation. Also compatible with Titan and Helios Tube. 1.2 m cable length on AC side, 1.5 m cable length on DC side. 24VDC, 4A.
• Extension Cable - Add 5m cable length to your power supply. Male to female cable.

Adjustable Fan Speed

Super silent fan that can be set to 3 fixed speeds and can also be turned off completely. The light does not immediately adjust its power level, instead it monitors its temperature and only turns down brightness if it overheats. This enables you to shoot for a short time in complete silence. 

Flicker-Free

With its scrambled PWM technology, lights with Titan LED Engine will not cause flickering when filming with standard frame rates. Recordings with high-speed cameras are possible but might not work under all conditions. Test before you shoot.

Green/Magenta Correction

To reduce post-production work, Titan LED Engine enables Green/Magenta correction from 0-100 in steps of 1%.

Effects

Quickly build programs out of colours and effects, trigger them or make them match a beat. Turn multiple programs and lights into scenes.

Talkback+

Detect all available lights, set them up, check their status, configure DMX addresses and DMX profiles.
