It operates passively with generously sized isolation transformers that can handle even high levels without distortion. This allows you, for example, to send the stereo output signal from a mixing console to multiple power amplifiers without creating ground loops. Naturally, the Palmer peene features a ground lift switch. In addition to the two transformer-separated outputs, the peene also has a link output that directly passes the input signal through.
