The optimised frequency response (200–500 Hz) prevents the occlusion effect that occurs when an in-ear headphone seals the ear canal. Slightly elevated upper mids enhance the presence of guitar and vocals, while refined treble delivers brilliance without harshness.

The heart of the DT 72 IE is the TESLA.11 driver system, crafted in Germany and superior to conventional balanced armature systems.
