The Palmer vils has two unbalanced RCA inputs. To connect it to your laptop's headphone output, you can use a standard Y-cable with a 3.5 mm jack plug. The vils sums both stereo channels to mono, so you only need one free microphone input to connect it to your sound system.

The Palmer vils is extremely simple to use. Due to its passive operation, it requires no power supply; a resistor network and a transformer, which simultaneously balances the signal, ensure optimal level and impedance matching. This prevents interference even over long cable runs.
