The black DPA 4071 CORE+ is a miniature, moisture-resistant lavalier microphone designed for use with wireless systems for broadcast, performance, and theatrical applications. The low-sensitivity electret-condenser capsule can handle loud vocalists, speakers, and performers and offers a presence boost to deliver crisp, clear, and intelligible audio. The mic features a rugged yet unobtrusive design that is well suited to the demands of professional live stage work and presentations. This version of the mic features a compact and reliable MicroLock connector that will work with a wide variety of wireless transmitters via separately available adapters.

The CORE+ technology in the 4071 delivers a wide dynamic range and almost completely neutralizes distortion at SPLs up to 133 dB, helping to provide clean, crisp, and natural sonic performance, even on loud stages. Included are two interchangeable capsule-protection grids that alter the sonic character of the mic for better results in different placement positions.

The 4071 is wired for low sensitivity, allowing it to handle peak SPLs of up to 137 dB with less than 1% distortion, making it well suited for loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters. The 4071 CORE+ is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless microphone transmitter.

Built to withstand the rigors of long-term everyday use, DPA's MicroLock system features an easy-to-use, secure, and wear-resistant locking connector specially engineered to minimize accidental disconnection and ensure reliable performance. The compact design is well suited to situations where space is limited and a visually discreet solution is preferred.

The 4071 will work with a wide variety of wireless transmitters via separately available adapters. Simply choose the MicroLock adapter with the appropriate connector for your bodypack transmitter and you're good to go.

MicroLock is fully backwards compatible with the MicroDot connection; MicroLock parts can be assembled with MicroDot parts and function as if they were of the MicroDot type. Please note that the locking function is only available if both the male and female parts are MicroLock.

The 4071 CORE+ features a capsule designed for loud speech and vocal applications at levels up to 134 dB SPL RMS and 137 dB SPL peak before producing < 1% distortion. The microphone can even handle peak SPLs up to 144 dB with only 10% distortion, making it very well suited for miking up loud sound sources including vocals, speech, and instruments.

The 4071 features a presence boost of typically 5 dB at 4 to 6 kHz that maximizes speech intelligibility. This is critical for a chest-placed microphone because the frequency range of the consonants spoken is damped in this position, resulting in poor intelligibility.

When recording voices from mic placement on a performer's body, no frequency below 100 Hz is attractive. For this reason, an acoustical low-cut at 100 Hz has been incorporated in the 4071’s capsule, so the built-in preamplifier (and the wireless system) will have a much larger headroom. Furthermore, the low-cut filter removes low-frequency rumble, noise, and proximity effect.

Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.

The diminutive 5.4mm capsule enables the microphone to be inconspicuous and easily disguised in clothing or costumes. The vertical diaphragm design offers a clear and natural sound optimized for the human voice.

The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals, even when the talent turns away from the microphone.

Engineered with a double-vent protection system, the 4071 is certified IP58 for dust and moisture resistance. The rugged 5.9' cable is built with Kevlar strain relief to survive the constant twists, bends, and pulls that are part of everyday use in harsh environments.

This version of the DPA 4071 CORE+ does not include mounts, windscreens, or clips; they are available separately.
