Atomos Shinobi 7 RX 7in Monitor & Receiver w/ Camera Control
Model: ATOMSHBRX1
About: Atomos Shinobi 7 RX 7in Monitor & Receiver w/ Camera Control
Shinobi 7 RX combines a larger 7-inch HDR screen with a calibrated peak brightness of 2200nits and the lightweight monitor-only functions of Shinobi. Can be used in the brightest of environments to monitor signals up to 4Kp60 via HDMI or HDp60 via 3G-SDI. Take control of Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony cameras via USB-C, plus Z CAM cameras via optional USB-C to serial cable. The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity provides a stable link between the Shinobi 7 RX and the TX component of Atomos’ TX-RX wireless video system, or a RTSP H.264 stream. An ideal director’s monitor, focus puller’s monitor, program or preview display for video switchers.

Camera Control
Using intuitive, on-screen sliders you can adjust white balance, lens aperture, shutter speed/angle and ISO. A red edge display indicates when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II or Shinobi 7 RX. Both models can control most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models (LANC cable required, purchased separately).
Touch to Focus
Tap the Shinobi II or Shinobi 7 RX touchscreen to have the camera automatically focus on your point of interest. Touch to focus takes advantage of camera focus modes such as focus tracking for effortless control and sharp images. Available with compatible cameras only.
Wireless monitoring
The integration of Wi-Fi connectivity provides a stable link between the Shinobi 7 RX and the TX component of Atomos’ TX-RX wireless video system, or any external RTSP H.264 source.
Choose the right Shinobi for the job
- Content creators: Shinobi GO is Ideal for content creators / vloggers who need a bright, lightweight field monitor for a DSLR or mirrorless camera; social media filmmakers who shoot vertical/horizontal content for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram; also travel filmmakers who need a portable monitor that doesn’t add bulk to their kit.
- Event videographers: Shinobi II is the perfect monitor for wedding, corporate, and event videographers who demand accurate exposure and focus monitoring; also commercial filmmakers using mirrorless cameras where precise color/HDR monitoring is crucial.
- Cinematographers: Shinobi 7 RX is the go-to monitor for cinematographers needing a larger display for on-set framing, composition, and HDR preview; directors / producers on set, also focus pullers looking for a bigger screen when working with shallow depth of field or complex rigs.
Professional monitoring tools at your fingertips
All Shinobi models offer a comprehensive suite of monitoring tools, all with simple one-touch operation, for focus, framing, and exposure. Tools include focus peaking, zoom (4:1, 2:1, 1:1), zebra, false color (Atomos, ARRI, and EL Zone colorized exposure modes), frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, waveforms, an RGB parade, vectorscope, multi-view analysis, and flexible 3D/1D LUT support with profile and preset options (including .cube file uploads via SD card). Shinobi II and Shinobi 7 RX provide anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring (2x, 1.8x, 1.79x, 1.65x, 1.6x, 1.5x, 1.33x, 1.25x) to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.
EL Zone
All Shinobi monitors support EL Zone, a professional false color exposure tool that helps you see exactly how bright or dark different parts of your image are. Unlike traditional false color systems that use rough IRE ranges, EL Zone assigns specific colors to exact exposure values—based on stops of light, in the same way your camera sees exposure. It’s a precise and consistent way to expose your image correctly every time.
LUTS
All Shinobi monitors receive LOG signals from the camera and offer real-time LUT (Look-Up Table) preview to approximate what the final graded image will look like in Rec.709. Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from an SD card and used in conjunction with the Shinobi’s built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.
Crisp, bright, true-to-life display
- High brightness: Both Shinobi GO and Shinobi II have 1500nit screens, which are both perfectly fine for daylight shooting, although in direct sunlight you may still need a sun hood (purchased separately). Shinobi 7 RX has a super-bright 2200nit screen, which makes it daylight viewable, even under harsh sun.
- High Dynamic Range: You can view 10+ stops of dynamic range from Log/PQ/HLG signals. Shinobi’s unique HDR monitoring features help you simplify the complexities of shooting Log and HDR, because it is possible to replicate post-production workflows when it matters most – while you are shooting.
- High fidelity: Calibration is the key to a trustworthy monitor. Shinobi II & Shinobi 7 RX monitors can be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL / Plus HL probe, and using the Atomos Calibrator app, for ongoing accurate HDR and Rec.709 monitoring. Accurate monitoring ensures reliable results.
7-inch: see the bigger picture
Shinobi 7 is a bright, 7-inch professional monitor that makes it easy to see your shots, even in direct sunlight. With both HDMI and SDI connections, it works with everything from mirrorless cameras to high-end cinema rigs.
- SDI & HDMI in/out: Shinobi 7 RX includes both HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI connections, which means it can be used with a much wider range of cameras and professional workflows, from indie films to big productions.
- USB-C: All Shinobis have a USB-C port, which can either be used to power the device or, in the case of Shinobi 7 RX, to control a compatible camera, or connect an external calibration device.
- Dual battery slots: Shogun 7 RX has dual battery slots to give you more flexibility and reliability on set. One battery can be replaced while the other keeps the Shogun running, so there’s no interruption in monitoring.
Flexible power options
- USB-C PD: All Shinobis support USB-C Power Delivery (PD), which allows the device to be powered directly from a compatible USB-C source, including power banks, wall adapters, or hub systems.
- NP-F battery: NP-F batteries are ideal for field use—powering your monitor through extended shoots without the need for frequent swaps or complex power setups (purchased separately).
- Battery eliminator: Compatible with all Atomos monitors that accept an NP-F Sony L-Series type battery. Requires the separately available Atomos Locking AC Power Adapter to provide power (purchased separately).
