The CMD 42 is the new digital microphone amplifier from Schoeps. It transfers the signal from the microphone capsule directly into the digital domain.

Just like the SuperCMIT, the CMD 42 uses the AES42 interface. A selection of currently compatible devices can be found by Clicking Here. In principle, a small power supply device on an AES3 input is enough, because the CMD 42 can be easily controlled using a free app.

The CMD 42 is not intended to replace analog microphones, but is intended for applications in which these special features lead to noticeable added value:

• Immunity to interference: digital output and therefore no interference on the microphone cable
• Dynamics: no more analog modulation necessary - the full microphone dynamics are transferred to the digital range.
• High Resolution: Sample rates up to 192 kHz and extended frequency responses of the microphone capsule up to over 40 kHz (" xt " functionality)
• Unrivaled low noise floor in the ultrasonic range, particularly suitable for down-pitching in sound design
• DSP: advanced signal processing directly in the microphone:
