I bought 50 of these for an event. about 5-10 did not survive being screwed into or out of a webcam tripod mount. The 1/4" threaded portion broke off at the shoulder where the upper threads meet the base. Was able to remove the broken portion from the camera with pliers, so no harm done there. I cant vouch for how they were being installed, it's possible more force was applied then needed, but I still wouldn't expect them to break on the first use. I wouldn't use them with anything you wouldn't want to fall. The ones that worked, worked great.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend
