ENTTEC Pixelator Mini MK2 eDMX to SPI Pixel Controller
Model: 70068
About: ENTTEC Pixelator Mini MK2 eDMX to SPI Pixel Controller
The Pixelator Mini Mk2 is an installation-grade hub that simplifies LED pixel dot and strip control. As part of ENTTEC’s PLink system, it provides 16 Ethernet ports for SPI pixel conversion using PLink Injectors, handling up to 128 universes of Art-Net, sACN, and ESP with data integrity up to 300m.
- Converts eDMX (e.g. Art-Net, sACN, and ESP) to SPI for pixel control over long distance.
- Dual RJ45 connectors for daisy-chain connectivity at 10/100 Mbps speeds.
- 16* RJ45 output ports fully compliant with Cat5e/Cat6 cable for easy installation.
- Up to 128 Universes (8U per port) pixel control.
- Active IEEE 802.3AF Active PoE or 12-24v DC power input.
- All ports feature ESD surge protection and resettable fuses to block external faults & electrical noise propagation through control infrastructure.
- Compatible with ENTTEC PLINK INJECTOR range.
- Compatible with ENTTEC CVC4, CCC4 RGBW auto addressable LED dimmer.
- Allows users to create and customise SPI pixel protocols (criteria apply, see ‘Custom Protocol Creation Guide’ document).
- Pixel arrangement including pixel order, pixel grouping for each PLINK output is individually configurable.
- Multiple mounting options: 1U Half Width Rack, 19” Rack, Surface mount, TS-35 DIN mount.
Equipped with dual Ethernet ports for daisy-chaining and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, the Pixelator Mini Mk2 streamlines network setup and power delivery for complex installations.
Connect a PLink Injector to each port to convert control data to SPI protocols, ensuring seamless signal transmission to LED pixel fixtures. Ideal for large projects, the Pixelator Mini Mk2 supports over 20 LED protocols and has the ability to customise protocols, with firmware updates and configuration available through its localhost web interface. For outdoor use, pair it with an outdoor PLink Injector or our CVC4 dimmers for minimal configuration and extensive control.
Why choose a Pixelator over an Octo?
The OCTO is a fantastic, compact and powerful device for controlling pixels. It outputs your chosen SPI protocol and you simply connect its ports directly to your light fixtures.
The PIXELATOR MINI and PIXELATOR MINI MK2, however, have a distinct advantage when it comes to larger installations.
They do not directly output SPI protocol. Instead, they send ENTTEC’s PLink protocol which is specifically designed to be carried for long distances without losing its integrity.
Pixelator output ports are connected to a series of PLINK INJECTORS that can stretch as far away as 300m from the Pixelator unit. These easy-to-install, compact devices connect to your light fixtures and convert the PLink data into your required SPI protocol. There are even IP66-rated PLINK INJECTORS available for installations where harsh environmental conditions may be a factor.
Whereas an OCTO can convert up to 16 universes of data, the PIXELATOR MINI will give you a generous 32 universes, and the PIXELATOR MINI MK2 an outstanding 128 universes. So, as well as its advantage when it comes to physical distances, you are also getting a lot more control channels when using Pixelators. This makes them ideal for dense arrays and complex, high-resolution installations.
Lastly, while both OCTO and PIXELATOR devices can control SPI-fed LED pixel fixtures, the PIXELATOR series also has the ability to control Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) fixtures. Instead of PLink Injectors, use CVC4 constant voltage dimmers to operate CV lights or CCC4 constant current dimmers for CC lights.

Easy, web-based configuration
ENTTEC are proud to have pioneered the introduction of user-friendly web browser interfaces in the lighting control sector. Just like all ENTTEC network products, simply connect to your PIXELATOR MINI MK2 from anywhere on the same network using your favourite web browser to configure, manage and update your device settings. It’s that simple!
16 x 6U = 128U?
That’s right! Although ostensibly a 96-universe LED controller, the PIXELATOR MINI MK2 will efficiently convert up to 128 universes of DMX-over-Ethernet to PLink pixel data (8U per output), with auto-activation of Overdrive Mode when configured to output more than 6U per port – because you never know when you might need that little bit extra.
Installer-friendly
Jam-packed with features to make your installation run smoothly. Select any input universe number and assign it to any output port, or reduce your DMX input control channel count by creating pixel groups. Choose from static or DHCP network configurations, and configure pixel ordering with ease to patch any standard fixture type in your lighting controller. The list goes on!
Stay in sync
The PIXELATOR MINI MK2 features an internal buffer and sync logic to ensure all 16 PLink output ports stay perfectly synchronised, and thanks to ArtSync, multiple devices on your project will always be perfectly synchronised. You can be confident that with an ENTTEC system you can build vast LED matrixes spanning multiple devices without experiencing any jitter, lag or content tearing on the output of your pixels. Put simply, everything works as you’d expect it to.
Protocol flexibility
Control up to 128 universes of pixels (16,384 RGBW / 21,840 RGB / 65,536 W), and output more than 20 different built-in pixel protocols. What’s more, you can output up to four different protocols simultaneously using ports ports 1-4, 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16. In the event of a missing protocol, our custom feature allows users to create their own protocol for any desired pixel fixture anytime – without having to submit a support request for new firmware.
Rock-solid surge protection
The PIXELATOR MINI MK2 has been engineered with surge protection for serious 24/7 operation. If your data cabling has a fault that causes a spike in voltage, a heavy-handed installer gives it static shock, or maybe your DMX lines have a lot of electrical noise on them, the issue won’t be passed through the device to your other equipment. Any disturbance is automatically suppressed.
