The VAC-23SHUC converts either 3GSDI or HDMI 2.0 to USB-C (USB3.0/USB2.0) up to UHD 3840x2160p at 30fps. 3GSDI and HDMI inputs have active loop-thru allowing the original high-quality source to be routed to monitors or other equipment as a pass thru. Common applications include live streaming, video conferencing and other PC or MAC-based applications.

• USB 3.0 output is YUY2 format (equivalent to SDI 4:2:2 sampling). USB 2.0 mode is MP4
• HDMI 2.0 input with active loop-through output supports formats up to 4096 x 2160 @ 30fps
• USB output audio sampling rate is 48 KHz
• Audio insert capability via 3.5mm stereo jack.
• Insert into HDMI requires existing audio track be present

Power is supplied by the USB-C connection to the host computer reducing clutter and eliminating the need for an external power supply. The rugged and compact design makes for easy portability and mobility.

The VAC-23SHUC's simple plug-and-play design uses UVC protocol to enable itself as a Camera Device. UVC protocol allows the host computer to set the parameters for the USB stream such as resolution, frame rate and aspect ratio.

HDMI Color Sampling Formats supported:

• 1080p/720p: YCbCr 4:4:4 8/10/12bits, YCbCr 4:2:2 8bits and RGB 8/10/12bits 2160p: YCbCr 4:4:4 8bits, YCbCr 4:2:0 8/10/12bits, RGB 8bits

  • All embedded audio channels (HDMI or SDI) are passed through to the matching output. Only channels 1 & 2 are sent to the USB output.
  • External audio may be used to replace existing SDI or HDMI audio via the 3.5mm audio jack. Audio cannot be inserted into HDMI sources that do not have an existing audio track.
