<p>I can&rsquo;t say enough good things about this mic. Does it sound exactly like a U87? I don&rsquo;t know, I don&rsquo;t have a U87 to compare it to. What I do know is that it sounds fantastic, and definitely reminds me of what the U87&rsquo;s I&rsquo;ve used in the past sounded like. Having both vintage and modern circuits makes it so much more flexible than it already would be with just one. The addition of the switchable R/F filter gives you two additional flavours to choose from too. The manual describes the difference with the switch on and off as subtle, but it&rsquo;s really not that subtle. With the switch off the top end is much more open and airy sounding, while with the switch engaged it has a much more present, focused upper midrange. United hit it out of the park with this one. If you&rsquo;re thinking about ordering one do it, you won&rsquo;t be disappointed.</p>...
