Pro Intercom econoCom EC2B (2 Beltpacks + 2 Headsets)
An econoCom system consists of:
1) A table-top (AD2410) AC adaptor with removable IEC power cord, and a cable with connector which connects the AD2410 to the PS100 interface box, and;
2) A PS100 system interface. These two devices, taken together, are the system's power supply.
Also included in the EC2B:
- 2x Standard full-featured BP1 belt packs
- 2x SHM310 headsets with connector
The system does include a signal light feature.
The econoCom power supply components are not intended to be used in systems which include more than two loudspeaker stations or stage manager stations, and do not provide multiple circuits.
One to six more BP1 belt packs (for a maximum total of ten) may be added to the system without creating hum or overheating the power supply components.
The PS100 system interface provides precise voltage regulation, further smoothing of the DC current (AC hum elimination), automatic overload/short-circuit protection, the necessary termination network for the intercom circuit, an LED indicator which indicates that 24VDC is being delivered, and 3 paralleled XLR jacks for connection of headset stations or strings of stations in a party-line configuration.
The components of an econoCom system are connected together using standard 2-conductor shielded microphone cables fitted with 3 pin XLR connectors (male/female). The PS100 has three outlets which are in parallel and the BP1s have a male and a female XLR for connecting to the PS100 and for looping onwards to the next BP1.
The ribbed, extruded aluminum case, polypropylene end bezels, internal support system for the PC boards, and best quality XLR connectors all contribute to the outstanding ability of the system components to withstand rough usage.
The comparatively low price of an econoCom system is made possible by the minimized assembly costs resulting from simplicity of construction. Simple construction also affords the use of higher quality components, and increases the ease (thus lowering the cost) of servicing.
The econoCom components are fully compatible with Clear-Com® and other popular (200 Ohm, unbalanced) party-line headset intercom systems.
Pro Intercom BP-1 Single Channel Belt Pack
Performance: The BP-1 portable headset station may be worn on the belt or hung on the wall by its sturdy belt-clip. Soft plastic strips on the underside help hold it in place when set on top of a console. The matte black finish minimizes visibility.
Frequency response has been carefully shaped to optimize both intelligibility and long-term listening comfort. A mic. limiter circuit reduces overload distortion. The high bridging impedance ensures that system and sidetone levels do not vary as other stations are switched in and out of the circuit.
The top panel contains controls for switching the microphone on and off, for controlling listening level, and for signaling. They are easily identifiable by touch. A recessed, screwdriver-adjust control is provided for varying the level of the user’s voice to be heard in his own earphone (Sidetone). A long-life, extremely bright, 4-segment LED serves as the signal light. The bottom panel provides a 3-pin female XLR for connection to the system; a 3-pin male XLR for looping onwards to the next station, and; a 4-pin male XLR for connection of any standard communications headset with a dynamic microphone.

Pro Intercom SMH310 Single Muff Headset
Performance: These light, comfortable headsets are equipped with high quality transducers for smooth response and pleasant listening. The soft, textured muffs are removable and washable. The mechanism for adusting size allows for a wide range, and is both simple and sturdy. The microphone is mounted on a thin flexible gooseneck boom that also swivels at the ear cup and can be swung up out of the way. The microphone can be adjusted to be very close to the mouth for situations where quiet or discreteness are important. The thin, flexiblecable does not tug on the headset and can be clasped out of the way with our optional clothing clip.
Durability: The SMH310 and DMH320 have a minimal number of moving parts. Each of the pivot points has been strengthened. The flexible gooseneck bends rather than breaks. The muff, along with its frame, pops off the ear cup for almost instant cleaning or replacement. Our always-generous repair policy applies to these modestly priced headsets as well.
Value: These headsets represent an outstanding value, costing considerably less than any other major brand of full-sized communications headset. When long working-life expectations and repair-ability are factored in, the value is even further enhanced.
Compatibility: The SMH310 and DMH320 are compatible with Clear-Com® as well as other, lesser-known, headset communications systems. The standard 4-pin female XLR-type connector is included, but we will gladly fit the appropriate plug for any other system at a reasonable cost.
